Cripple Creek, Colorado Pictures

As you can see when we started out the clouds were moving in as they usually do in the afternoon. No matter, the mountains are beautiful rain or shine!

Cripple Creek from the overlook....you can see forever! The town is an old mining town but now it's mostly casinos. We didn't go into any of them. Just walked down one side of main street then up the other side. There is a Veteran's Appreciation Celebration going on this weekend and they were setting up the booths and displays

I like to take pictures of old buildings so bear with me!

Flags and motorcycles on main street

this was inside a building, a recreation of a mine with water feature

Last year we drove up to Cripple Creek with Marilyn, Ed, Teresa and Trent. We had a picnic lunch right here!

this building is missing some parts! but see the stone foundation?

When we left the town the clouds looked even worse but it did not rain on us until we got off the mountain and it's good thing because the Gold Camp Road and Old Stage Road are dirt and narrow with drop offs on both sides!

Our drive took us on some mighty pretty back roads and we ended up coming down in the Broadmoor area.
