A day for chores

I was up in time to see the sunrise and I have to admit I enjoyed it mostly because the wind wasn't blowing! During the night we had a thunderstorm that Jim slept through. The wind was almost continuous.

Jim was up for Biscuits at 0800. We had no plans for today and we didn't do much except for every day chores. Anne and I made a run to the post office, I had a package to mail off to Sonsearae and we both had postcards to send off.

When we stopped at Dollar Tree yesterday we picked up a couple Flamingos to keep Felicia and Frederico a couple friends to keep them company...

These flamingos like to party! Meet Pina and Colada!
Anne and I walked around The Ranch and found some interesting things to take pictures of in the campground.

Anne took this picture, these plants are everywhere and I love the spines and and patterns on the leaves.

the one on the right is getting ready to send up a flower shoot

it's even pretty from the top

some of the residents have 'gardens' that are decorated with artful pieces

these are actual gardens in the back of the campground

I've never seen a cactus like this one!

This couple keep watch over the garden
Roast beef, mashed potatoes and peas for dinner shared with friends. After dinner we walked over to the clubhouse, there is ice cream, candy and sodas available on the honor system. Jim and Anne got some ice cream.
There's a storm moving through and the rig is rocking and rolling. Doesn't sound like much rain.
"But the place which you have selected for your camp, though never so rough and grim, begins at once to have its attractions, and becomes a very centre of civilization to you: "Home is home, be it never so homely." ~Henry David Thoreau"
