Nde Daa Spring Pow Wow

After a wonderful night of sleep I was up around 0730 and Jim was up about an hour later. After breakfast I stripped the bed and started doing laundry. About this time Anne stopped over and asked if we wanted to go to a Pow Wow. We agreed it would be fun, so we made our plans. Subway for lunch and we would tailgate at the Pow Wow.

Jim needed to shave and we both needed to change clothes. Jim and Scotty headed to Subway to pick up our lunch and I stayed home to continue with the laundry and wait for Anne to get out of line dancing. We wanted to be at the Pow Wow in time for the Grand Entry at 1300.

We headed out around 1215 and arrived in plenty of time to eat our lunch before heading indoors. Finding a parking space was interesting because the event was being held at the Lark Community Center and Library in McAllen. We lucked out because someone was leaving and we snagged their spot.

Once inside the gymnasium we found some seats on the bleachers and settled in to listen to a storyteller. Around the other three walls there were tables set up with vendors selling crafts.

The Grand Entry was quite interesting even if it did start later than we expected. I can't begin to tell you all that was said and done. But I took some pictures to share with you.

All the dancers showed the crowd how it's done! And from the look of it they enjoyed themselves.

On the way home we made a stop at Sonic and Jim and I got something called a Java Mocha Chiller and Anne got a Vanilla shake.
Once home we changed into comfy clothes and sat outside. Jim, Dave and Scotty practiced on their dulcimers while Anne and I relaxed and listened.

Dave had left by the time I decided to take a picture.
All in all it was a good day.
